Teeling – Blackpitts Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

Teeling Blackpitts Peated is an Irish single malt named after the Blackpitts area of Dublin's Liberties, just behind the Teeling distillery in Newmarket. The area was once home to some of the largest barley malting houses in Ireland. The malt is dried over peat smoke and triple distilled, which softens the medicinal edge often found in Scottish peated malts and lets a barbecue-style smokiness come through. It is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Sauternes casks, an approach taken from an earlier Teeling 24 year old single malt. It is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration.
