Teeling – Blackpitts Peated Single Malt (46%)

Blackpitts Peated is a single malt Irish whiskey from Teeling, made from peat-dried barley and triple distilled. It takes its name from the Blackpitts district of Dublin, which lies directly behind the distillery. It matured in ex-bourbon casks and Sauternes sweet wine casks, and is bottled at 46% without chill-filtering. The nose is smoky, with juicy orange, grilled pineapple, honey and clove. Smoke comes through more strongly on the palate, alongside ripe pineapple, honey, dark chocolate and malt. The finish is long, with lingering smoke, spicy wood and a restrained malt sweetness.
