Teeling – Small Batch Stout Cask Finish (46%)

This is an Irish whiskey from Teeling, bottled at 46% ABV. It was finished for more than six months in casks that previously held 200 Fathoms Imperial Stout, made by Galway Bay Brewery, with whom Teeling worked on the release. The stout casks add malt, roast and chocolate character to the whiskey. The nose shows dark chocolate, an earthy note reminiscent of white truffle, and fresh green apple. On the palate there are strong malt notes, herbs, gooseberry, lemon, roasted tones, a creamy touch and a little cinnamon. The finish is medium in length, with ripe orange and light spice.
