Templeton Rye Aged 6 Years (75cl, 45.8%)

Templeton Rye Aged 6 Years is a rye whiskey made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, distilled at MGP in Indiana and matured for six years in charred new American oak. It is finished at Templeton, Iowa, where local water and the brand's own flavouring formula are blended in before bottling at 45.75% ABV (91.5 proof). The recipe draws on the Prohibition-era rye once made around Templeton. It pours deep tawny bronze. The nose is butterscotch, orange blossom, vanilla and cherry over gentle pumpernickel rye spice. The palate brings brown sugar, apple, peach, cinnamon and coconut with rye spice, and the finish is long, warming and smooth, with nuttiness, spice and herbal pine.
