Templeton – Rye Oloroso Cask Finish Limited Release (46%)

This is a limited release rye whiskey from Templeton, bottled at 46% ABV. It starts as the distillery's 6 year old rye, which then spends a further nine months in Oloroso sherry casks. The nose brings crème caramel, candied orange peel, figs and sultanas, with nutty notes from the Oloroso. The palate is rich and oily, with tropical fruit, exotic spices, milk chocolate and walnuts, over bold oak and burnt sugar. The finish is long and creamy, with black pepper and a lingering warmth.
