The smoky edition of Terence Hill The Hero, a 70cl bottling at 49% that joins two distilleries. St. Kilian Distillers in Germany marries its own whisky from ex-rum casks with triple-distilled Irish whiskey from the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk, matured in ex-bourbon casks. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The series came from a licensing collaboration arranged for St. Kilian, and the smoky and mild editions reached the market on 1 December 2021, following the Bud Spencer series.
Wood smoke leads the nose, with cream toffee, molasses, vanilla, peach and mango. The palate is strong and intense, with peat smoke, creamy caramel, white pepper and oak. The finish stays smoky for a long time.
