This is a three-year-old rye whisky from The Oxford Artisan Distillery, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company as Batch 2. It comes in a 50cl bottle at 57.4%, and was matured in part in Port casks. The distillery is known for its commitment to sustainability, organic farming and traditional artisanal methods. The nose opens with rye spice, dried clove, cinnamon and pepper, then jammy red berries, sweet summer fruits and a little cacao. The palate balances creamy milk chocolate and spiced fruit against peppery spice, with rich, jammy berries from the Port cask. The finish is vinous oak and sweet, dark fruit.
