That Boutique-y Whisky Company Whitlaw 15 Year Old Batch 1 (49.7%)

Whitlaw is a single malt from an undeclared Orkney distillery, matured for 15 years and bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company as batch 1. It comes from a release of 979 bottles at 49.7% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. The label shows a wizard leading a tasting in a roofless church, in front of a very relaxed audience. On the nose, light wood smoke comes first, followed by dried fruit, bitter orange, and a little oak and spice. The palate keeps the orange alongside dark fruit and burnt barley, then cinnamon, black pepper and roasted peanuts. The finish is lingering smoke, with chocolate and orange compote.
