The Dalmore 40 Year Old is a Scotch single malt limited to 58 bottles for the USA. It was first matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks.
The whisky was then moved into 30-year-old Gonzalez Byass Matusalem Oloroso sherry butts and finished in first-fill bourbon barrels.
The nose offers sweet orange marmalade, dates and hints of rich coffee. On the palate come molasses, maple syrup and honey, followed by cooked apple and a little citrus, such as blood orange.
