The Dalmore King Alexander III is a Highland single malt created by Master Distiller Richard Paterson. It honours Colin of Kintail, Chief of the Clan Mackenzie, who saved King Alexander III of Scotland from a charging stag in 1263.
It is matured in six types of cask: ex-bourbon, Matusalem Oloroso sherry, Madeira, Marsala, Port pipes and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques.
The nose offers red berry fruits, passion fruit, vanilla pods, crème caramel and crushed almonds. On the palate, citrus zest and sweet vanilla give way to red berries, plums and roasted walnuts. The finish is long, with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and soft oak spice.
