The Dalmore – King Alexander III Lunar New Year Edition (70cl, 40%)

This is The Dalmore King Alexander III in its Lunar New Year Edition, a single malt from the Highlands of Scotland bottled at 40% ABV in a red-and-gold presentation. It keeps the six-cask make-up of the original, drawing on bourbon, Matusalem Oloroso sherry, Madeira, Marsala, port and Cabernet Sauvignon influences. The whisky was crafted under Master Distiller Richard Paterson and is closed with a cork. The nose is fruity and spiced, with red berries, citrus peel and warm vanilla pod. On the palate come citrus zest, crème caramel and crushed almonds with a little oak warmth. The finish is lingering, with cinnamon, nutmeg and gentle oak.
