The Dalmore – Luminary 2022 15 Year Old (70cl, 46.8%)

Luminary is a 15 year old single malt from The Dalmore, bottled at 46.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first in a three-part series made with Dundee's V&A museum, pairing figures from whisky and architectural design. This edition combines the work of Maurizio Mucciola, protégé of architect Kengo Kuma, with master whisky maker Gregg Glass. The whisky was first matured in American oak, then finished in Italian Amarone red wine casks together with bespoke Kintsugi casks made from Scottish Tay oak, Japanese mizunara and American white oak. The nose combines rich fruits, panna cotta, honey roasted almonds and citrus oils. On the palate are citrus, chocolate, cherries, figs, brioche and moist ginger cake. The finish brings dried fruits, honey, balanced wood spice and cacao.
