The Essence of Suntory Volume 3, known as Rich Type, is a non-age-statement blend of malt and grain whisky. It belongs to the Cedar Throwdown release, which came out on 29 October 2019.
The whisky was aged in cedar-head casks at the Yamazaki distillery. The name Rich Type refers to the influence of those casks.
It is described as rich, smooth and fruity, with a creamy body and a slightly spicy edge.
