The Gospel Project Release Fortified Cask (70cl, 52%)

Fortified Cask is a rye whiskey from The Gospel, bottled at 52% in a 70cl bottle. The mature rye spent a further six months in three fortified wine casks: Apera, Chardonnay Tawny and Fortified Semillon. They sat at the top of the Brunswick warehouse in Melbourne, where the summer heat brought sweetness, richness and a lingering finish to the dry rye grain. On the nose it is described as roasted walnut, maple syrup, clove, leather and fig, followed by orange marmalade, fruitcake and bitter caramel on the palate.
