Legacy Rye is a three-year-old Australian rye whiskey from The Gospel Distillery, bottled at 56% in a 70cl bottle. It follows the historic Maryland style, with a mash of 59% Murray Mallee rye, 35% Australian corn and 6% Australian malted barley. It matured in a heavily toasted, heavily charred cask placed in the middle of the warehouse. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The release belongs to the Project Releases and marks the shared work of Andrew Fitzgerald and Ben Bowles and their enthusiasm for American whiskey styles. The nose leads with caramel, pickles, marmalade and buttered corn. The palate pairs citrusy rye spice with buttery caramel, and the finish is spicy and creamy with liquorice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
