The Gospel Straight Rye is an Australian rye whiskey from a Melbourne distillery, in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled from 100% Australian unmalted rye, grown by a single farmer in the Murray Mallee region of South Australia, and it is the first Australian whiskey legally labelled as 100% Straight.
The nose recalls buttery dark rye bread, with spice and light toffee. The palate brings caramel, vanilla, sweet allspice, clove, pepper and green apple. The finish is dried red fruit and crème caramel with woody spices.
