The Hearach Croft Strength is the stronger bottling of the Harris single malt, filled at 52% in a 70cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The whisky is made from 100% Scottish barley and soft Outer Hebridean water, then matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and ex-Oloroso and ex-Fino sherry casks. It is lightly peated. Distilling, maturing, blending and bottling all take place on Harris, at the Isle of Harris Distillery.
The nose offers soft smoke, toffee and caramel with apple sauce, poached pear and blackcurrant, then heather, white spices, clove and liquorice. The palate stays soft, as deeper spice and wood notes move towards green and fruity impressions. The finish is long, sweet and warming.
