The Macallan Classic Cut 2018 is the second edition in the annual Classic Cut series, a single malt matured in sherry oak casks. It is bottled at 51.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky maker, Ian Morrison, chose that strength to bring out a dominant sweetness and balanced flavours. The colour is earthy gold.
The nose is led by orange and lemon, with nutmeg, ginger, vanilla and polished oak. The palate has ginger and nutmeg with full-bodied sweet vanilla and orange. The finish is medium sweet, ending in long, dry oak.
