Classic Cut is a limited annual release from The Macallan, and this is the 2023 edition. It is bottled at cask strength, 50.3%, in a 70cl bottle, and the colour is natural.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon and sherry seasoned casks. The label names pear, almond and vanilla.
The nose is led by apple and pear, with more fruit, vanilla, fresh dough and a touch of wood. The palate is oily, with the bourbon influence strongest: orange, vanilla, oak and ginger. The finish is long, warm and spicy.
