The Macallan Rare Cask 2024 Release is a Speyside single malt in a 75cl bottle, made from casks hand-selected for depth and complexity from across the distillery's stocks. For this release the whisky-making team chose sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, a high proportion of them first fill and seasoned with Oloroso sherry in Spain. The mahogany colour is entirely natural, with no caramel colouring. The 2024 edition is a collaboration with Charlie Burchill of Simple Minds, who worked with a luthier in southern Spain to make a guitar from the same European oak used for the casks.
