The Whistler 7 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt (59%)

The Whistler 7 Year Old is an Irish single malt bottled at cask strength, 59%. It spent its first five years in bourbon barrels and a further two in first-fill sherry hogsheads. It is bottled without chill-filtering and without caramel colouring. A drop or two of water is said to open up its aroma further. The nose is creamy, salted caramel with dry orange and red apple. On the palate, citrus fruit and white pepper sit with salted caramel, apple and orange peel. The finish is creamy caramel with spicy cask notes that stay warming for a long time.
