Three Ships 12 Years Double Wood is a single malt bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is the sixth edition of the Master's Collection, inspired by Andy Watts.
Equal parts of the whisky spent 12 years in American oak casks and in Amontillado sherry casks, and the best casks were then blended together.
Light amber in the glass, it shows toffee apple, nuts, citrus zest, marmalade, banana, dried fruit and coconut on the nose. The palate is citrusy, lightly spicy and cinnamon-led, with a hint of salted peanuts. The finish is long, spicy and sweet.
