Thy Whisky No. 22 Bøg-PX is a new version of the distillery's beech-smoked single malt, bottled at 57.1% in a 50cl bottle, close to cask strength. It matured in first-fill PX casks filled in 2019 and 2020, the first year of the distillery's own production at Gyrup. The malt is made from Odyssey spring barley, grown organically on the distillery's own farm at Gyrup. A total of 1,635 bottles were filled.
The beech smoke is smouldering and balanced, with a soft, fruity, malty sweetness beneath. The deep PX sweetness comes with warm spiced vanilla and a little oak, and the finish brings coffee and chocolate. The colour is a deep, dark one.
