Togouchi Peated Cask Finish is a Japanese blend of malt and grain whiskies from the Sakurao distillery in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima prefecture. It matured first in bourbon casks, then in casks that previously held Islay whisky, which adds light smoke and peat to a sweet, fruity base.
It is bottled at 40%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The nose brings black tea, orange peel and chocolate. On the palate it is soft and sweet, with honey, coconut, light smoke and ginger. The finish carries caramelised sugar, smoked peat and lavender.
