Togouchi Pure Malt (40%)

Togouchi Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt from the Sakurao Brewery & Distillery, formerly Chugoku Jozo. It is a blend of single malts brought in from various distilleries, then matured and bottled in Japan, at 40% ABV. The malts spent between 3 and 9 years in sherry and bourbon casks, and the whisky is only very lightly peated. The nose offers vanilla, chocolate and ripe apricots. On the palate fresh cream arrives while fine peat comes through. The finish brings bitter cocoa and hazelnut alongside slowly fading peat.
