This Tomatin 12 Year Old was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2021 as part of The French Collection. It is a Highland single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
It spent most of its twelve years in oak casks before a finish in Rivesaltes wine casks from the south of France, which bring the character of a sweet, fortified wine.
The nose is rich with dried fruit, honey and toasted almonds, along with orange marmalade, cinnamon and vanilla. The palate is sweet grape with dark chocolate, espresso, ginger and nutmeg. The finish is long and warming, with sweet wine notes, dried figs and delicate oak spice.
