A 12 year old Highland single malt from Tomatin, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2023. It is the second of three bottlings in The Italian Collection, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV.
The whisky matured first in oak casks and was then finished in Amarone wine casks from Italy's Veneto region.
The nose brings dark fruits, dried cherry, blackberry jam and vanilla, with marzipan and oak spice. The palate is full-bodied, with red grapes, ripe plums and dark chocolate, alongside honey, almond and a little peat. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruits, sweet spice and a vinous note.
