Tomatin 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2023, at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is the third and final bottling in The Italian Collection and is not chill filtered.
The whisky spent most of its 12 years in oak casks before a finish in Barolo wine casks from northern Italy.
The nose is red berries, vinous notes and honey, with subtle oak spice and dried fruits. The palate shows red apple, dried cherries, vanilla and baking spices over a malty backbone. The finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate, red wine tannins and sweet oak.
