This Tomatin 12 Year Old was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2023. It is the first of three releases in The Italian Collection, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent most of its 12 years in oak casks, then was finished in Sicilian Marsala wine casks. It is bottled without chill filtration.
The nose shows dried fruits, honey and marzipan, with orange zest and sweet spices. The palate is velvety, with dark chocolate, stewed fruits, cinnamon and nutmeg, alongside sweet wine notes and gentle oak. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruits, subtle nuttiness and a lingering sweet wine character.
