Tomatin 15 Year Old (2008) Palo Cortado is a Highland single malt from the distillery's Sherry Collection. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration.
The whisky matured for its full 15 years in Palo Cortado sherry casks from Jerez. Tomatin draws its water from the Alt-na-Frith burn in the Monadhliath Mountains.
The nose shows figs, dates and raisins, with polished oak, nutmeg, toasted walnut and a little citrus. The palate is velvety, with dark chocolate, orange zest and caramelised nuts, then almond, toffee and a light saline note. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit sweetness, gentle oak spice and a dry close.
