Tomatin – 1967 50 Year Old

This is a single cask Tomatin, distilled in 1967 and matured for 50 years in sherry-seasoned Spanish oak. It was bottled at cask strength by the distillery and yielded 88 bottles from cask 30258. It comes from one of the last 1960s casks held at Tomatin and is the oldest Tomatin whisky released. The tasting notes describe rancio on the nose, with earthy, fungal, spicy and fruity notes. On the palate, fruit wraps around oak and spices, with sherry showing through in subtle layers.
