Tomatin – Italian Trio Marsala Casks

Tomatin Italian Trio Marsala Casks is a Highland single malt from a limited edition series in which the whisky is moved into casks that once held wine from regions including Piedmont, Veneto and Sicily. This one spent ten years in traditional casks, then two years in ex-Marsala casks. Marsala is a fortified wine from Sicily, made in dolce and secco styles as well as vintage wines. Candied notes stand out, such as panettone, the spiced cake with candied fruit. White chocolate, hazelnuts and lemon truffles follow on the palate, and the finish turns sweet with citrus, blood orange and toasted cask.
