Valdespino Origen Vermouth Aged in Macallan Virgin Oak Casks (75cl, 15%)

Valdespino Origen is a vermouth from Jerez, made with up to 70 per cent of the sherry blend that Valdespino prepares to season casks for The Macallan. It is aromatised with 11 botanicals including cinchona bark, gentian, nutmeg, dried Seville orange and liquorice, and sweetened with Moscatel. It is then aged in The Macallan's virgin oak casks and bottled at 15% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The aroma is of rich spices with caramelised citrus fruit over a background of oak-aged sherry. The palate is well balanced and rich, with fresh citrus, soft spices and a refined bitterness, and a gentle, lingering finish.
