Van Winkle Family Reserve Bourbon is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon distilled at Stitzel-Weller in Louisville in 1970 and bottled in 1984. This is bottle number A212.
It comes from the Van Winkle family's independent bottling operation, from the period before Buffalo Trace and the modern Pappy Van Winkle programme. The A prefix marks an alternate numbering series within the same 1970 distillate and 1984 bottling.
