Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year Old is a Kentucky-style bourbon aged for twelve years and bottled at 45.2% in a 75cl bottle. It is a full-bodied, sweet whisky of amber-orange colour, and some drinkers have called it nectar.
The nose is led by rich, complex toffee. On the palate it begins round and supple, then turns dry and expansive at medium body, with brown spices, caramel and nuts.
