The nose brings ripe fruit such as plums and cherries, together with spicy notes and a light hint of tobacco and chocolate from wood ageing. On the palate it is full-bodied, with well-balanced tannins, a round and persistent mouthfeel, and a long, pleasant finish. It suits robust dishes such as roasts, game and mature cheeses, and has ageing potential.
