Waiheke Whisky – Honey & Rye (70cl, 40%)

Waiheke Whisky Honey & Rye is an American-style whisky bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The mash is 51% corn, 21% rye and 28% barley, and the whisky is matured in an oceanside barrel house. It is sweetened with natural Manuka honey from Waiheke Island. The character is grassy and spicy, with a distinct rye note balancing the honey. The colour is lemon and honey. The nose is honey and sweet spice caramel, the palate toasted oak, spices and vanilla, and the finish is drier than expected, with phenol and pepper.
