Waterford Ballybannon 1.1 is a peated Irish single malt from the Arcadian series, a single farm origin whisky aged 3 years and bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The barley was peated to 47 ppm. Maturation took place in a mix of casks: 39% first-fill American oak, 21% new American oak, 21% French oak and 19% French vin doux naturel casks. The release is limited to 11,500 bottles.
The nose offers soft peat, almonds, lavender honey, a touch of sea breeze, driftwood smoke and green apples. On the palate come peat smoke, buttery notes, sea fennel, warm apple and almond cake. The finish is extremely long.
