Westland – Colere 2nd Edition (2022) (70cl, 50%)

This is the second edition of Colere, part of Westland's Outpost Range. It is an American single malt released in 2022, in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV. The series is built around rare, uncommercialised barley varieties, with the emphasis on grain character and terroir rather than cask influence. This edition uses two special varieties, among them the old malting barley Talisman, which gives a flavour profile quite different from standard commercial barley. The nose offers fresh grain, citrus oil and spicy malts. The palate shows honey, spice, soft wood, floral accents and mineral depth. The finish is clean and slightly fruity.
