Westland Flagship is an American single malt whiskey, distilled, matured and bottled in Seattle, Washington. It is bottled at 46% in a 700ml bottle and matured for a minimum of 40 months.
The grain bill uses six malted barleys: Washington Select Pale, Munich, Extra Special, Pale Chocolate, Brown and Bairds Heavily Peated. Maturation draws on new and used American oak, first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and first-fill and second-fill ex-Oloroso sherry hogsheads and butts.
The nose brings custard, maple brittle, toasted marshmallow and marionberry compote. The palate has almond nougat, creme brulee, black tea and butterscotch. The finish is medium-long, with drying oak, lemon-pepper, vanilla and roasted malt.
