Westland – SOLUM 1st Edition (2023) (70cl, 50%)

Westland SOLUM is an American single malt from the Seattle distillery's Outpost Range, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. This first edition is the first peated American single malt made entirely with Pacific Northwest ingredients. The peat comes from a bog in the north-west United States, and the distillery describes a flavour profile quite different from that of Scottish peat. It is an annual release. The nose has soft smoke, cedarwood, citrus oil and fresh sawdust. The palate shows aromatic peat, roasted grain, dark honey, spices and mineral notes. The finish is warm and smoky, with a subtle earthy depth.
