Whipper Snapper Rye Australian Whiskey (70cl, 48%)

Whipper Snapper Rye is an Australian rye whiskey from the Wheatbelt Series, in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV. The mash bill is 85% rye, an heirloom German variety grown by the Fuchsbichler family at Bruce Rock in Western Australia, where Michael Fuchsbichler first planted it in 1911. It matured for at least four years in virgin charred American oak barrels in Perth's Mediterranean climate. The colour is burnt amber. The nose is toasty, with cherry cola, clove and burnt sugar. On the palate come sweet mint, spicy vanilla, caramel, hazelnut and orange peel, followed by a long, savoury finish of salted toffee and mocha.
