Whipper Snapper – Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 48%)

This is a single barrel single malt from Whipper Snapper in Western Australia, part of its Wheatbelt Series, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It was aged for four years in the Perth climate. The grain comes from Western Australian Wheatbelt farmers. It is fermented in open-top vessels, which gives a warmer fermentation and more fruit-forward character. Distillation is in a hybrid column still, producing a savoury, fruity, oily distillate. The colour is burnt amber. The nose is light floral, sweet candy, fresh bakery, vanilla and honey. The palate brings soft vanilla, caramel, sweetgrass, green apple, stewed pears and nutmeg. The finish is light toffee, dark spices and tobacco.
