Whiskey Del Bac – Dorado Mesquite Smoked Single Malt

Dorado is a single malt from Whiskey Del Bac in which the barley is dried over a mesquite fire instead of peat. The wood is Prosopis Velutina, the predominant species in Southern Arizona. The idea began with barbecuing over mesquite scraps while drinking Scotch, and it was the first expression in the distillery's range. Making it meant learning to malt barley, with the aim of reflecting the Sonoran Desert. The nose is sweet tobacco and dark chocolate over sandalwood. On the palate there are soft tannins, with desert campfire and spice.
