WhistlePig Old World Rye is a 12 year old rye whiskey bottled at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit matures for 12 years in new American oak, then is divided between three barrels for finishing: Madeira (63%), Sauternes (30%) and Port (7%). The three finishes are then blended together.
The nose brings caramel, vanilla and winter fruit. On the palate there is rye spice with apricots, plums, raisins, dates and honey. The finish carries dark chocolate, winter fruit, caramel and vanilla.
