This is a 12 year old rye whiskey from WhistlePig, bottled at 43% (86 proof) in a 70cl bottle.
It is a marriage of whiskeys aged in new American oak, then finished in Madeira casks (63%), French Sauternes casks (30%) and Port casks (7%). The approach draws on Old World barrel-aging traditions.
The finishing is meant to enhance the boldness and character expected of an American rye, and the whiskey is described as smooth and easy to drink.
