This is the fourth edition of WhistlePig's 18-year-old Double Malt Rye, in a 75cl bottle. The mash bill is 79% rye, 15% malted rye and 6% malted barley, and the whiskey spent 18 years maturing in virgin oak. Each annual edition is topped with a bespoke glass stopper handmade in Vermont, and it is certified Kosher.
The nose is sweet and aromatic, with toasted oak, berries and nutmeg. The palate is elegant and spicy, mildly fruity and floral, with vanilla and oak appearing over time. The finish is long, clean and spicy.
