WhistlePig PiggyBack is a six-year-old rye whiskey made from 100% rye, bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It launched in select US markets in 2019 as a permanent part of the WhistlePig range, crafted by Dave Pickerell, who died in 2018, and master blender Pete Lynch.
The bottle is a different shape from the standard WhistlePig one, to make it easier for bartenders to handle, and the pig wears a Stetson, Dave's trademark, instead of a top hat.
The nose has fresh cinnamon, black pepper and subtle citrus. The palate is powerfully spicy with cocoa, cardamom and leather, and the finish is long and intense.
