WhistlePig 18 Years is a straight rye whiskey bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. It was matured for 18 years in virgin oak.
The mash bill is 79% rye, 15% malted rye and 6% malted barley. The malted portion adds floral and earthy tones, and the whiskey moves from soft and supple to rich and savoury on the palate.
The nose is sweet and aromatic, with toasted oak, berries and nutmeg. The palate is elegant and spicy, mildly fruity and floral, with vanilla and oak appearing over time. The finish is long, clean and spicy.
