WhistlePig Boss Hog XIII The Golden Pharoah is a limited-edition rye whiskey bottled at 52.5% ABV (105 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is the thirteenth release in the annual Boss Hog series from WhistlePig of Vermont, and it takes its theme from ancient Egypt.
Each Boss Hog edition is finished in casks in its own way, and this one follows that approach.
The nose has dark honey, baking spice and dried stone fruit, with leather and aged oak beneath. The palate is rich, with black pepper, cinnamon and clove, then toffee and dried fig. The finish is long, with rye spice, toasted oak and cocoa nib.
